Alive just barely, ghostlike
Staring at the empty world
All that is left of a once happy child.
The strutting, malevolent narcissists,
Spewing horror and violence,
Amusement smirked
Across their self-important faces
It boggles the rational mind
Any human could invent such barbarism,
Tormenting innocents, snuffing lives,
Venting insane hatred.
Macabre undertaking
To wipe the earth of Jews,
And gypsies, and other undesirables.
With horrific iron fisted efficacy.
Was there not a moment’s hesitation?
Somewhere way back when?
Were you not listening?
At the first stir of such annihilating notions?
Did you not hear a hint?
Or probe the heart of the inventor,
The core of his malevolent intent?
